Southwest Gas Begins Natural Gas
Pipeline Work In Tahoe City

Traffic to be Impacted

Truckee, Calif. - Southwest Gas will perform work on its natural gas pipeline system south of Tahoe City, Calif., on Highway 89, between Grimsel Pass Rd. and Wilson Ave., beginning June 11. The work is being done to meet customer needs for natural gas in the area and is expected to be completed in October.

Southwest Gas is conducting its work in conjunction with a storm water project by the California Department of Transportation which includes rehabilitating drainage and treatment systems, and installing curbs and gutters to help protect Lake Tahoe’s water quality.

Traffic in Tahoe City along Highway 89 will be impacted between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, while the utility work is underway. Southwest Gas reminds the public to take extra precautions when traveling in the area. Restricted travel lanes will impact the flow of traffic and minor delays are expected.

Southwest Gas provides natural gas service to approximately 1.9 million customers in parts of Arizona, California and Nevada.
