Equal Payment Plan (EPP)

Southwest Gas’ Equal Payment Plan (EPP) is a convenient program designed to help residential customers manage their bills by allowing them to pay the same fixed amount each month based off the estimated gas used each year in their home. Adjustments to the fixed amount are made quarterly based on actual usage. EPP may assist customers on a fixed income and those who want to more easily budget monthly expenses. There is no obligation to enroll, and the plan can be canceled at any time.

EPP offers the predictability of having the same fixed amount each month on your bill that is determined by the estimated annual natural gas usage of your home. The monthly EPP amount is determined using the average of the previous twelve months of usage. Your usage is reviewed every quarter (three, six, and nine months) and annually, and the amount may be adjusted up or down, or stay the same, depending on your gas usage. Your gas bill will continue to show your actual usage as the exact utility charge(s) and the amount you would owe if you were not on the plan. The fixed “EPP” amount will be displayed in the “Please Pay Amount Due” section on your bill.

You can enroll online at swgas.com by simply logging into your MyAccount and selecting Equal Payment Plan under Billing. You may enroll at any time during the year by creating an account or logging into MyAccount. If you are unable to access your MyAccount please call Customer Solutions at 877-860-6020 .

Who can sign up for Equal Payment Plan?
All active residential customers are eligible to sign up for the Equal Payment Plan.
Is there a charge for using Equal Payment Plan?
No, there is no fee for the program.
After enrolling, when does the Equal Payment Plan amount start?
The EPP amount will appear on your next billing cycle. If you have a current balance at the time of enrollment, this amount must be paid on or before the due date on your bill to avoid late payment charges and credit violations on your account.
How do I cancel my participation in Equal Payment Plan?
The Equal Payment Plan can be canceled at any time by logging into your MyAccount and selecting “Stop Equal Payment Plan” under “Billing.” If you are unable to access it through MyAccount, please call Customer Solutions at 877-860-6020 . If the program is canceled prior to 12 months from the enrollment date (your EPP “Anniversary Date”) the full amount will become due and payable.
Can I request a payment extension while enrolled in Equal Payment Plan?
No, customers enrolled in EPP are not eligible for an extension or an installment plan.
What happens if I am late making a payment?

Customers in Arizona and California will be automatically removed from the EPP after any two late payments during the plan year. Customers in Nevada will be automatically removed from EPP after two consecutive late payments during the plan year.

If the program is canceled prior to 12 months from the enrollment date (your EPP “Anniversary Date”), the full amount will become due and payable.

Have you considered enrolling in the Automatic Payment Plan (APP) along with EPP?

Automatic Payment Plan (APP) is a convenient way to pay your bill automatically every month through an automatic bank draft from your checking or savings account. You will continue to receive your monthly gas bill and the payment amount will be automatically deducted on your payment due date – no hassle with paying online or standing in line. By enrolling in both programs, you know what your bill will be each month and are assured that it will be paid on time.
